I (like many) grew up with Star Trek and have followed it pretty much through every incarnation on TV and Film.
The new remake of the Star Trek series that takes us back to how James T. Kirk and the gang got together but made the USS Enterprise much bigger than the original show.
Going in a completely opposite way, this is a picture measuring just 8.8-micrometers long.
Is this a really well done painting? If your answer is yes, then you're wrong!! It's a photo, of a person, in front of a set, in a mall! It's an amazing blend of photography, body paint, and modeling.
The picture was taken by University of Hawaii Art Professor Peter Kun Frary, who noticed the display outside of a MAC cosmetics store. The amount of time and effort that went into this must have been truly staggering.
To quote Professor Frary from his site :
Although carrying a heavy SLR can be a drag, it's worth it when a great image leaps out and bites you on the arse. Recently I walked by the Ala Moana Mac cosmetic store and noticed a crowd of Japanese tourists gawking and snapping pics. Amazingly, a model in full body paint was posing against a set. She was a darn good simulation of a late 19th century oil painting. At first I though she was nekid--wearing only makeup--but she sported a few scrapes of cloth in the right places. Also, she hardly ever blinked...
Recon and Zeal have teamed up to bring the Transcend Ski Goggles that has an inbuilt Heads Up Display (HUD).
Called "The planet's first GPS and sensor-laden ski goggles", these things are supposed to be capable of logging speed, altitude, temperature and time details, and the side-mounted toggle switches will enable you to view said data in real time.
However, if you’re going to drop off the edge of that run called “Don’t Miss”, then maybe not so much…

I'm a MacBook fan and use a MacBook Pro 17 to do most of my work when I'm away from the office. I love it's clean and simple design.
However, if you'd like to spruce up yours, try heading over to Etsy and having a look at what they do. Looks like some high quality work.
